With the start of the flowering season comes one of our favourite festivals in Chiang Mai - the Flower Festival. The main event is the parade, a lively procession of fantastic marching bands from local schools and huge floats made of flowers, which need to be seen to be believed.
The work that goes into creating and decorating these works of art is mind boggling. Thousands of fresh flowers are carefully picked, kept fresh and added to the float.
Even the headresses are made from fresh flowers.
The marching bands create a great atmosphere.
Everyone is welcome to join in.
